Pumpkin Carving Workshops – Saturday 28 October 2023:
Blackburn BID is delivering free pumpkin carving workshops on King William Street in the town centre on Saturday 28th October, 10,30am to 3.30pm. The workshops went down a storm last year with visitors and so they will be returning, alongside roaming Halloween characters giving out treats. If you’d like the characters to visit your business / organisation on the day please let Catherine know.
From Broadway to Blackburn: Christmas Lights Switch On Spectacular – Saturday 25 November 2023:
The ever popular Christmas Lights Switch On event returns to the town centre, hosted by young talented volunteers from 1Voice, and featuring Katrina’s Dance Academy, Lancashire Dance Academy, Made for Stage, Bernese Theatre School, Zoe Taylor Dance, Blackburn Festival of Light Street Band, and the stars of KGH Panto Aladdin. The finale show will be delivered by Blackburn town centre and Dubai based Pop Up Global.
Busker’s Christmas Ball – Saturday 2 December:
Blackburn BID is supporting the What’s Your Sound project led by Derek Berry, a project to support and develop the music community of Blackburn & Darwen because of the positive impact this has on a place. On Saturday 2 December, local singers and musicians will be given a space to perform in Blackburn town centre. We will allocate 10 spaces around the town centre – where would you like the buskers to perform in the town centre? Please contact Catherine with your suggested locations.
