Blackburn BID Member Blackburn Cathedral is now an “Eco Church”.

The Cathedral was awarded Bronze status in this national scheme designed to assist the Church of England’s commitment to achieving ‘net zero’ by 2030.

Eco Church encourages more than carbon reduction, it offers an holistic approach to sustainable living such as using Fairtrade products, maintaining a diverse ecology in the cathedral grounds and prayerfully considering the needs of communities across the world.

The Cathedral is aiming to achieve Gold standard status, so watch out for further Eco initiatives in the months ahead.
