Spinning Toy Workshop
School holidays are nearly here, which means it’s time for us to get crafty in the libraries once again. Children age 5 and over can make a spinning toy out of simple strips of paper and a wooden skewer. It twirls as it spins and creates all sorts of amazing patterns. It’s fun to make, and even more fun to play with! Free tickets for activities will be available from the relevant library up to 2 weeks before each event.

Bookmark stitching
But we aren’t forgetting about the adults this time – we’ve got something for them too. Hand stitch a beautiful bookmark using a prick and stitch paper embroidery technique. Pierce through card following a template, then pass a threaded embroidery needle through the holes to form a flower design (see below). Again, tickets for these will be available from the relevant library up to two weeks in advance.
